Heidi Risk, VP Finance/CFO
Heidi has spent her career building successful organizations by focusing on the details. Those details include graduating with her Masters of Accounting from Utah State University summa cum laude before starting her career in public accounting. Heidi knew that she wanted to work in industry and followed the long-honored tradition of attrition; she spent the next eight years in the construction supplies distribution industry before moving to the construction industry. During her tenure, her company grew over 350 percent to become the 37th largest landscaping company in the United States; Heidi supported this growth by focusing on controlling overhead costs, improving cost reporting techniques, and identifying industry benchmarks to measure operational performance.
Heidi joined Tradition Golf Club as CFO in 2009. By counseling together with members, management and staff, she believes that the Tradition experience can be magnified and invigorated. Her management style can best be described by a quote of Ronald Reagan: "There's no limit to what you can do or where you can go if you don't care who gets the credit."
When she's not in the office, Heidi spends her time with husband, DJ, and four children: Reagan, Tre', Madison, and Joshua. As a family, they frequent water polo and wrestling matches, football and basketball games; they are also inveterate readers. They've been known to do a few science fair projects (31 to date). Heidi and her family also love to scuba dive; they recently completed their family goal of a shark dive together.
