      Welcome Back Tournament

Our Welcome Back Tournament is much more of a social event than a “golf tournament”. This event is played as an opposite gender scramble. As we are cart paths only for the first couple of weeks of each season, we have found that by alternating the men and women it reduces the walking required for the group. Depending on the size of the field, we may play 6 or 8-somes. This has been a great way to meet new people and refresh long term friendships.

      Couples Holiday Shamble

Tradition’s Couples Holiday Shamble has become a much sought after tournament. This annual event often sells out for the next year prior to dinner the evening of the event. Limited to 20 couples and their guests, participants are welcomed with a wonderful brunch, a golf course that seems empty and finishes with a 4 course meal prepared by our Executive Chef, Jose Sanchez. In between, there are some wonderful surprises which are sure to please. Don’t miss this “Over the Top” production.

      Tradition Cup

The Tradition Cup is our annual match play team event. Captains pick their teams and 4 matches are played over the 2 days. The event begins with a pairings party and the announcements of the teams. This has become one of the most popular events at Tradition. This is the first of 2 Member/ Member events held during the season.

      Arnold Palmer Scholarship Pro Am

Our annual Pro Am began with the premise that we needed an event in early January as many of our members were not returning until mid January. The Pro Am began simply as a way to showcase the wonderful club we call Tradition. In the 3rd year of the Pro Am we began supporting local charities. We have supported charities such as Martha’s Village and Kitchen as well as Shelter from the Storm.

Three years ago, we were very fortunate to rename the event after our member and friend Arnold Palmer. The Arnold Palmer Scholarship Pro Am is one of the 2 primary sources of funding for Tradition’s Arnold Palmer Education Fund. This fund provides scholarships to staff members and their children at Tradition Golf club. Additionally, it also provides the funding for a program that helps teach the English language to our Hispanic employees.

      King’s Crown

The King’s Crown, named after the King himself, is Tradition’s annual Men’s Invitational. Entry into this spectacular event is by lottery. Only 60 two-person teams are allowed in this 4 day event. The event begins on Monday each year with a practice round and pairings party. The event is a match play format with ten 6 team flights, playing 5 matches + a rubber match. On Wednesday evening, there is a couples dinner party at Tradition for all the participants and their spouses. The shoot-out on Thursday not only provides great entertainment for the onlookers but decides the ultimate champions for the season.

      Men’s Member/Member Tournaments

We end each season with our Men's Member /Member tournaments. The Men’s Member/Member is a pick your own partner event. Each year the Arnold Palmer Education Fund Scholarship recipients and their parents are recognized Monday evening at the All Member Dinner held during the Men’s Member/Member.
